Lights, camera, ACTION

Teaching with Digital Video is my all time favorite. The plan is introduced and the stage is set. The spotlight fades from the instructor and shines directly on the students. This promotes creativity and fun learning. I have tried this in my classroom and the students were engaged and retained what they learned as writers, directors, and actors. I felt the shift of the spotlight away from me to the students. This is true learning at its best; by doing. Talk about authentic problems. Wow!

The name podcast derived from the word broadcast and iPod. When you subscribe to a podcast, new information can automatically be updated. It's kind of like a magazine and you have access from anywhere.

Curious?
Want to know more?
Opportunities for learning are expanding with the introduction of new tools. I would like to explore my curiousity with blogs to incorporate cross curriculum lessons. Physical Education often takes the back seat to academic classes. For example, students could walk across America using pedometers to log their steps, incorporating Math skills and blogging emphasizing Language Arts. I think technology could bring us together where in the past we were isolated.

Blogging Liftoff

Blogging Liftoff -
Just like the Blizzard of 2010, blogging has taken the internet by storm!
Blog is short for weblog and just like a Blue Jay, blogging is all about me. You can stand up on your pulpit and speak. It's a personal web journal where you can post whatever you want. It allows you to have a voice and connect with others worldwide.
Are you ready for take off?
